Alicia King (Pokaipiinakii)
Alicia King is a versatile Indigenous artist from the Blood Tribe (Kainai Nation).

Her love for colour, line, and abstraction all come together in her work, allowing her to express herself in a deeply personal way. Alicia strives to tell stories through her art or share meaningful messages, with each piece carrying a unique significance depending on what she’s aiming to bring to life. A recurring theme in her work is emotion—whether it's love, pain, or appreciation for often-overlooked aspects of life like nature, land, and animals.
She hopes to slow people down in a fast-paced world, encouraging them to notice the beauty in the quiet, subtle things. Alicia also uses her art to highlight the importance of Truth and Reconciliation. Indigenous stories and experiences have long been ignored, and she integrates her culture into her work as a way of bringing visibility, awareness, and healing.
Her goal is to connect with people through her art—whether they are Indigenous or not—because she believes art is for everyone, of all ages.
Currently,  Alicia is a student at the Alberta University of the Arts, pursuing a career in graphic design and illustration. Art remains her passion and her voice, and she hopes each piece she creates contributes to change, connection, and community healing.
